A hairdresser in Coalville has been crowned the winner of a coronation themed window competition.

Elizabeth Grace Hair and Beauty has bagged another public vote after impressing customers with their royally decorated display.

The hairdressers has become well-known for its show stopping windows after winning similar awards for Christmas and Jubilee themed competitions in previous years.

Highly commended awards were also given to The Flower Garden and The Attic for pulling out all the stops.

In total, 15 businesses from Coalville took part and over 1000 votes were submitted by shoppers for their favourite red, white and blue themed displays.

North West Leicestershire District Council's (NWLDC) King's Coronation Best Dressed Window Competition launched in April and formed part of the celebrations for the coronation of King Charles III.

Paul Wheatley, Head of Economic Regeneration at NWLDC, said: "All the businesses really did pull out all the stops to get creative and give shoppers another opportunity to spend time in the town centre.

"I'd like to thank all those shops who took the time to set up such brilliant displays, as well as shoppers for visiting Coalville to choose their favourites."

Jodi Nicholson, owner of Elizabeth Grace Hair and Beauty, said: "I love taking part in the best dressed window competitions as it gives us a chance to show off our creative flare.

"Even though we've won the award before, we're always so overwhelmed with the support we get from local people."
