A Coalville company is collecting to help dogs in Ukraine.

Snibston Meadow Dog Exercise Field is helping a local charity which plans to transports supplies for dogs following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

They have posted a message on social media which reads: "We have been asked by a local dog rescue charity to collect for dogs in Ukraine.

"They will be taking vans of pet supplies to help the animals in Ukraine.

"Therefore, until further notice, our collection box in our car park will be for Ukraine. Any pet items greatly appreciated - food, leads, collars, beds, cages, bowls etc.

Please feel free to contact us if you have bulkier items that need to be collected from your house and we can arrange this too."

They have also posted a reminder for anyone who wants to donate items for humans too.

The message adds: "Also, for Ukraine human supplies, the Marlene Reid Centre in Coalville is collecting toiletries, tinned foods, baby wipes, nappies etc this Saturday between 9am and 12."
