Coalville Community Hospital patients receive Christmas gifts thanks to generosity of people across the county

By Graham Hill 25th Dec 2021

Staff at Coalville Community Hospital have received gifts for their Christmas Day patients - thanks to the generosity of people living across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

They responded to the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust's £2,000 appeal to ensure it could distribute a present to more than 500 patients expected to spend Christmas Day in community hospitals and mental health units.

Carolyn Pascoe, fundraising manager for the NHS Trust's charitable arm, Raising Health, said: "I would like to say a big thanks to all those who have contributed to our Raising A Smile For Christmas appeal.

"No-one wants to be in hospital on a normal Christmas Day, and, with visiting restrictions, it is likely to feel more isolated this year.

"I'm sure these presents will make an enormous difference to those who receive them."
