Coalville CAN wants North West Leicestershire schools to take part in what has been described as the largest survey of young people ever conducted in the district.

The community group has contacted every school in the area with a view to having students' voices heard.

Results will be shared back with young people, schools, colleges and youth organisations, and to those who can take action on the results, such as North West Leicestershire District Council, Leicestershire County Council and the NHS.

The survey is aimed at young people aged 11 to 25 - or any age in year six.

It consists of 28 questions, ranging from what issues are important, the sort of facilities or activities that are wanted, health and wellbeing, and what young people might benefit from.

There is a collaboration with the NHS which is looking for ideas about what services could be improved.

The survey will be open until the end of February and is anonymous and confidential.

Coalville CAN says the report will be publicly available and be delivered directly to the councils, the NHS and to others in a position to support positive action.

You can access the survey HERE.

No young person under 14 will be contacted without the school or parents' permission.

The form is digital and can be completed on tablets, phones and computers.

Coalville CAN says it is welcomes invitations to come to schools and host an assembly or session with classes from year six and above.

There will also be a Youth Voice exhibition at Coalville CAN in Memorial Square in February and March.

The group is inviting contributions from year six and above that reflect the topic.

The exhibition pieces can be 2D, 3D, digital and in any medium - lego, cardboard, writing, images.

Each piece needs the details of the artist, the story behind the art, a label with contact details and the means to hang or display.

The exhibition will begin on Thursday, February 8, with an open event on February 7, from 6pm-8pm.

It is planned to keep adding to the exhibition throughout February and March and will have changing content.

There will be an event at the end of March linked to the sharing of the survey results.
