A charity providing support to the Coalville community has received a donation of £1,000 from the Amazon fulfilment centre in the town.
MRC Community Action offers wellbeing sessions, community transport, a soft play area for children and a community market providing affordable food.
The charity also runs two second-hand furniture shops, a charity shop offering affordable items and a Neighbourhood Mental Health cafe offering support for people struggling with their mental health to talk to trained peer support workers.
The donation from the Amazon team will go towards wellbeing programmes offered at the centre.
The team at Amazon in Coalville has supported MRC Community Action since 2022 through volunteering and with donations.
Richard Cowlishaw-Ellison, General Manager at Amazon in Coalville, said: "We're pleased to once again support MRC Community Action. They provide a great range of services to support the Coalville community and we're glad to lend a helping hand."
Paul Fagan from MRC Community Action said: "On behalf of the MRC Team, we would like to thank Richard and the team at Amazon for this donation.
"Donations like this ensure we can continue supporting the community across Leicestershire and I would urge anyone in need of support to contact us."
Community donations are just one of the ways Amazon supports the communities where it operates.
The online giant has supported more than 500,000 students across the UK with free computer science and STEM education programmes through Amazon Future Engineer.
Amazon helps community organisations transport meals and other essentials to families in need through its pro bono logistics programme, Amazon Local Good, including more than seven million healthy breakfasts to children at risk of hunger in partnership with Magic Breakfast.
Through its Multibank initiative, co-founded with former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Amazon has supported more than 200,000 families experiencing poverty, with the donation of more than two million surplus essential goods.
