Coalville CAN is staging an exhibition to showcase the best artists in the town and surrounding area.

The Memorial Square-based community group wants to prove the town has talent with Coalville in Colour.

From Sunday (April 21), Coalville CAN is welcoming artists Tomas Villarosa and Dennis Baker to exhibit their artwork.

But the public is also being invited to take part as you can add your favourite piece over the coming weeks.

Deana Bamford, of Coalville CAN - and curator of this latest exhibition, said: "Coalville truly has some amazingly talented people.

"We've never before seen originals by Dennis Baker, watercolours that are just wow!

"Plus there is Tomas Villarosa - what an exceptional artist and fabulous person too. He's now painting Coalville at night.

"And Alexandra from Coalville Art Club has just painted Snibston pub.

"Just how many more talented people are out there?

"I was told, seven years ago, that there were no creative people in Coalville.

"I hope what we are showcasing at CAN totally disproves that.

"If you want to help put Coalville on the map, come and visit.

"Support your local artists and invest in the future of the town."

The exhibition is due to finish on May 12, with a few extra artists who have added their work during the weeks.

All are welcome and it is free to come in and view, as well as being free to enter your work. Paintings can be sold. (Commission applies).

The exhibition is open daily, 10am-4pm, Monday to Saturday; 11am-2pm, Sundays.
