Coalville CAN is stepping up its offer of community shares so that the group can buy their offices in Memorial Square.

CAN wants to put the building in the hands of the Coalville community - and has already raised around a quarter of what is required.

But organisers know the work cannot stop, despite the initial interest from local companies.

Dean Bamford, of Coalville CAN, said: "Anyone is welcome to invest, either as an individual or as an organisation - and anyone who does becomes a member of Coalville CAN, owning a part of our society and having a say in how we operate."

Coalville CAN is also urging people to watch the video below to get an idea of what the group do in the area.

Deana added: "Let's invest in the future of Coalville together.

"Are you fed up of boarded-up shops, expensive rents and feeling like nothing can change?

"Well if you want to do something now is the time. Step up and get involved in what's going on locally. Loads is happening!

"One of those things is what Coalville CAN are trying to do.

"Giving power back to people - individually and collectively."

CAN says it has spent the last two years building and creating an inspiring place to visit, and everyone is welcome.

But future plans are bigger and involve supporting others to progress with projects they are passionate about - and that means taking the group's own building to do it.

CAN representatives will be at the Woodstock in Whitwick event next weekend.
