Coalville CAN's current exhibition comes to an end on Sunday - when an all-day wellbeing event also takes place.

But the Memorial Square-based community group have also announced an initiative to improve the town's litter problem.

And they also want to hear your views on how the town can be improved.

The Art and Nature: A Celebration of Coalville exhibition runs until the weekend.

Talented artists Liz Waddell and Farah Alalmgir have brought the beauty of nature to life in their latest exhibition at CAN Gallery.

It highlights the connection between creativity and the environment.

One of the key themes is litter - a challenge that we create but one that we also have the power to solve.

The exhibition is open until March 16:

  • Monday – Saturday: 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Sunday: 11 AM – 3 PM

CAN is also introducing Litter Pick Wednesdays.

The community group says they are rolling up their sleeves and tackling Coalville's litter problem together.

Join them every Wednesday for a community clean-up that fits into your daily routine,

  • Heading to work? Walking the kids to school? Just fancy a morning stroll?
  • Bring a litter picker and a bag, or grab some kit. You can register at North West Leicestershire District Council for free litter picking equipment.
  • Leave your collected rubbish at CAN HQ, and they will take care of the rest.
  • Then you can have a cuppa and a chat afterwards!
  • Or there is the Waste Warriors Group Pick
  • Prefer to clean up with company? Meet Pete at 9:30am for a group litter pick.
  • You will be back at CAN for tea and biscuits by 10:30 AM.

Sunday is also the day of CAN's Wellbeing Event (11 AM – 3 PM).

This is billed as a perfect opportunity to explore ways to improve both Coalville town and your own wellbeing.

A CAN representative said: "But it's not just about litter—we want your ideas for improving Coalville!

"Walking through the town gives us a chance to see what else we can change for the better.

"From supporting local art to keeping our streets clean, every small action makes a difference.

"This is our town—let's work together to make it the best it can be.

"Coalville is a town with a rich history and a bright future, but it thrives because of the people who care about it.

"That's where you come in! Whether through art, nature, or community action, together we can shape the town into a cleaner, more vibrant place to live and work.

"See you at the gallery, the wellbeing event, or out on the streets for a litter pick."
