Coalville Belvoir Rotary Club will be hosting Dave's Tractor Run for the third year running and we is hoping to build on the success of the last two years.

This year, the club will be raising money for Age UK, Coalville branch, at the August 18 event.

This is an independent local charity with a national name which works in the local community to help older people live happier, active, fulfilled and socially-engaged lives.

The organisation is committed to the welfare of older people, to maintain their dignity and recognise their value as individuals.

It supports older people to develop new skills and knowledge, form and continue friendships and to have their views listened to, accepted and made known.

At Dave's Tractor Run, all tractors, big and small, are welcomed, along with other vintage and unusual vehicles.

The entrance fee is £15 for each vehicle and driver and £5 for each passenger. All entrants will receive refreshments at the start and end of the run.

The tractor run will begin in Heather and follow a route through Ibstock, Ravenstone, Coalville, Hugglescote and Ellistown, then finishing up at Ibstock Country Fair.

Last year, a sizeable number of spectators lined the route to see the tractors - and are being encouraged to do so again.

At the Ibstock Country Fair, the President of the Coalville Belvoir Rotary Club, will award a 'Best in Show' trophy to the vehicle that impresses the most.

There will also be a Rotary Club stall with a tombola and other games.
