Amazon in Coalville has made a £1,000 donation to a Leicester Hospice.
LOROS Hospice works with around 2,500 families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, providing compassionate care and support to terminally ill adults, their family and carers.
The hospice offers various support services including a short-stay inpatient ward for symptom management and end-of-life care, outreach support in the patient's home, day therapy and counselling.
Amazon in Coalville has supported LOROS since 2017.
Commenting on the donation Martin Cox, General Manager at Amazon Coalville, said:"LOROS is a wonderful organisation that does vital work in our community.
"Since 2017 we have seen first-hand the impact of its work in Leicestershire and we're happy to be able to support the team again this year."
Bruce Smith, Partnership Development Co-ordinator from LOROS added: "On behalf of the staff and patients at LOROS, I want to say thank you to Martin and the team from Amazon.
"Donations like this help us provide high-quality and compassionate care to our patients. Thank-you again for the support.''
LOROS Hospice received the donation as part of the "Amazon in the Community" programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.
Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering three quarters of a million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
