Armed police carry out early morning drugs raid at address in Hugglescote

Armed police were used in a drugs raid at a property in Hugglescote on Tuesday.

Officers carried out the early morning operation at an address in Central Road.

Leicestershire Police say that the reason armed police were deployed was in the 'interest of officer and public safety'.

The force confirmed the matter is under investigation and no arrests have been made so far as a result.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told Coalville Nub News: "Shortly before 8am yesterday (Tuesday, September 24),police executed a warrant at an address in Central Road, Hugglescote, under the misuse of drugs act.

"In the interest of officer and public safety firearms officers were also deployed to assist.

"An investigation is currently ongoing."
