AMANDA Hack says getting the Ivanhoe Line 'back on track' has been on her agenda in the 100 days since becoming MP for North West Leicestershire.

Funding for the re-opening of the passenger railway from Coalville through to Derby was taken away as part of the new Labour government's cuts when they took over in July.

The Restoring Your Railway Fund was axed by Transport Secretary, Louise Haigh, almost as soon as Sir Keir Starmer took over as Prime Minister.

But Ms Hack says the Ivanhoe Line is something that deserves to be reconsidered as something that would revitalise the area.

Also, much of the groundwork had been put in place with the Campaign for the Reopening of the Ivanhoe Line playing a major role.

The MP wrote on social media: "It's been 100 days since I became your MP. 

"In that short amount of time, I have recruited a full office team - with the final member joining soon - to help me support you right here in North West Leicestershire.

"I've attended numerous community events, met with many constituents to address casework queries, and am pleased to be holding regular in-person surgeries across the area. 

"As you can imagine the level of correspondence has been vast and whilst we are still working through some of the backlog, response times will improve moving forwards. 

"In Westminster, I've had meetings with ministerial colleagues about The Ivanhoe Line, quizzed the Water Regulator OFWAT about the sewage dumping in our rivers and joined multiple All Party Parliamentary Groups.

"It's also been great to meet with many different organisations from around the UK to understand how we can work closely together to improve the lives of everyone locally. 

"Change has begun. My team and I are here to support you, please do get in touch if you think we can help."

In a video message, she added: "I've had conversations with ministers about getting the Ivanhoe Line back on track."
