A recently-renovated GP practice in a Leicestershire village is set to be officially opened this weekend by an A-list actor couple.
The Ibstock Surgery, in the village's High Street, is set to have the ribbon cut by Hollywood star Stephen Graham and his wife, Hannah Walters, who both live in the area.
The couple have both featured in an array of popular films and TV shows which include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Irishman, This is England, Peaky Blinders and Time.
They moved to Leicestershire having formerly lived in the Beckenham area of London.
The High Street surgery will be officially opened at 1pm on Sunday (September 10) and will allow patients to go round the practice which has recently been remodelled and extended.
Free light refreshments will be available and fundraising activities will take place for specialist surgery equipment.
Dr Fatima Houghton, a GP partner at the practice, said the renovation has been years in the making.
She said: "Brexit and the pandemic caused significant delays and cost increases to the project so it is amazing to finally get to this stage.
"Before the work, the building was extremely old and dated. We delayed redecorating it as we knew we would be extending.
"The building is beautiful, it has even been nominated for an architecture award."
The project has been financed through a mixture of funding from developers who have built large housing estates in the area and a large business loan taken by the GP partners who run the practice.
The expected cost of the project, near Coalville, currently sits at around £780,000.
Dr Houghton added: "We are a real community practice, with four partners, four salaried GPs, three nurses, three health care assistants, two pharmacists. We are a close team and are really happy we have the capacity in terms of rooms simply because we used to not be able to fit everyone in.
"Before the works the building was not up to scratch and after a while would not have aligned to health and safety regulations. It has been hard to carry on the work of the surgery whilst renovations have been ongoing but the builders have worked round us, often working at weekends and bank holidays, but it has been disruptive. The patients have praised it highly and have been brilliant throughout this process."
