About the RoleWhat You'll Do
This role is all about supporting our HR team and employees with a variety of tasks. You'll be involved in:
- Maintaining and updating employee records on the HR system in line with GDPR compliance, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from staff and managers, providing helpful and friendly support, and escalating complex employee relations matters when necessary.
- Assisting with onboarding and offboarding processes, helping new team members get set up for success and managing departures smoothly.
- Supporting payroll by providing accurate data, such as absences, details for new starters, and information for leavers.
- Assisting in maintaining HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible, and communicating these effectively to staff.
- Providing crucial administrative support for employee relations matters, including scheduling and providing comprehensive support for disciplinary, grievance, and performance meetings, ensuring all documentation is accurate and confidential.
- Undertaking general administrative duties such as scanning, filing and managing HR correspondence to keep things running smoothly.

What We're Looking For
- A common-sense approach: You're a logical thinker who can figure things out and solve problems effectively, particularly when navigating sensitive employee situations.
- Ideally some HR experience: While not essential, a foundational understanding or experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations would be a strong advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills: You can manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and pay close attention to detail
- Strong communication skills: You're comfortable interacting with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to communicate empathetically and clearly, even in challenging conversations.
- Proactive and eager to learn: You're not afraid to ask questions, take initiative, and grow your skills, especially in the area of employee relations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: You're comfortable using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A positive attitude: You bring energy and enthusiasm to your work every day.
- Exceptional discretion and confidentiality: You understand the critical importance of handling sensitive employee and HR information with the utmost care and professionalism, particularly in ER cases.
