A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Lead Practice Nurse to join a highly supportive and well-established GP surgery in Leicestershire. The practice is seeking a confident and personable nurse who can take ownership of the role, lead a small nursing team, and deliver excellent patient care across both treatment room and chronic disease management services.

Your Role
- Lead Practice Nurse (around 30 hours per week flexible on days and hours)
- No evenings, weekends, or home visits
- Flexible start and finish times, typically between 8am and 5pm
- Opportunity to shape the role and influence nursing services within the practice
- Lead and support a small, established team including Practice Nurse, HCAs, and Phlebotomist
Your duties will include:
- Immunisations and vaccinations (adult & childhood)
- Cervical cytology
- Wound care and dressings
- Chronic disease reviews (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension)
- Health promotion and lifestyle advice
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the nursing team
- Contributing to QOF and quality improvement initiatives
Special interests (e.g. respiratory, women s health, or other LTCs) are welcomed and supported.

About You
You will be a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with experience in a GP practice setting. You ll have strong clinical skills, confidence managing long-term conditions, and the ability to support and develop colleagues.
Essential:
- RGN with NMC registration
- GP surgery experience
- Confident in treatment room duties and LTC management
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Desirable:
- Previous leadership experience
- Specialist interest in respiratory, women s health, or another LTC area
- Independent Prescriber or willing to work towards
