Maintenance Manager

£60,000-£63,000

Monday Friday 8:00-17:00pm with an hour s lunch break.

Orion Electrotech are working with a well-established waste management company who are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their team.

This role is critical for maintaining the operational efficiency of the company s processes, particularly focusing on the seamless operation of equipment and ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are strictly followed. The Maintenance Manager will need to be a strong leader with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and team management.

Maintenance Manager Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance Strategy Management: Ensuring all maintenance tasks align with the company's strategy and goals.
  2. Team Management: Managing the maintenance team to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, performance evaluations, and team development.
  3. Leadership and Performance Management: Driving change, managing performance (both high and low), identifying training needs, and providing regular feedback and coaching.
  4. Supervisor and Coordinator Management: Overseeing Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Coordinators to effectively manage contractors, stock, and maintenance schedules.
  5. Supplier and Manufacturer Communication: Maintaining relationships with equipment suppliers for effective operations.
  6. Compliance Management: Ensuring compliance with legislation, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards like ISO certifications.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Utilising root cause analysis to drive improvements in maintenance processes.
  8. Attendance and Performance Monitoring: Reporting any issues related to staff attendance, punctuality, and performance to management.
  9. Disciplinary Procedures: Conducting investigations in line with company policies regarding disciplinary and health and safety matters.

Maintenance Manager Essential Skills:

  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • At least three years of experience managing a maintenance team.
  • Experience in fast-paced maintenance environments.
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) maintenance and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience in the waste and recycling sector is advantageous.
  • Competency with Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and other software tools.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, especially when working with multi-skilled teams.
