About the Role
As a Treasury Management Officer, you'll play a vital role in managing the Council's treasury management function, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and maximising financial returns. Your expertise will contribute to delivering a robust Treasury Management Strategy and support the council's financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Council's treasury management function to minimise interest payments and maximise investment returns.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and balance sheet projections.
- Work closely with the Council's treasury advisors to ensure compliance with statutory codes and professional standards.
- Appraise investment and borrowing options.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports on treasury activity and prudential indicators.
- Provide input for the Council's Statement of Accounts and manage treasury-related disclosures.
- Administer the Council's insurance functions, ensuring adequate coverage and managing claims.
Essential Requirements:
- AAT qualified (or equivalent).
- Local authority accounting experience.
- Experience managing organisational cash flow.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and financial software systems.
- Treasury management experience.
- Knowledge of the Prudential Code for Capital Finance.
