A children's play area that two Coalville mums fought to have built is now open.
The Friends of Coalville Park voluntary group has secured funding of £73,000 last September for new play equipment with support from North West Leicestershire District Council Local mums succeed in getting new play equipment for Coalville Park.
This project was created by volunteers and mostly financed by them.
It took two years of hard work which started when Coalville mums Sandra Ramp and Amy Shepherd joined forces with the single aim of making the play area better.
Now the play are has been opened and Sandra posted on the Friends of Coalville Park on Tuesday to make the announcement.
She said: "A long, long time ago, I sketched out an idea for the play area and stuck it on my fridge!
"It was my dream to create an accessible, inclusive, safe play area that would cater for a greater age range and diversity.
"To now see all that hard work finally real and ready for all the community to enjoy brings a tear to my eye.
"I can honestly say it is one of my proudest achievements ever and I can't thank all those who have helped along the journey enough.
"Big shout out to the District Council, Veolia, Playdale, Amy, Friends of Coalville Park and of course my long suffering but super supportive family.
"The safety inspection was finally completed yesterday (Monday) and the fencing has now been removed.
"I hope you enjoy it and have lots of fun!
"P.S I will give fair warning, everywhere is super muddy right now so if you want to use the parts off the hard surface area (agility trail and zip line) you will definitely need wellies."
