A 'large amount of jewellery' was stolen from a Coalville home during a burglary - including a gold linked bracelet with huge sentimental value to the owners.

Leicestershire Police are appealing for public help following the theft.

A police spokesperson said: "Sometime between Friday 3 and Sunday 6 September, a property in Kenmore Crescent was broken into while the occupants were away. Among the items taken were:

• Two silver brooches – one in the shape of a polar bear and the other shaped like a wedding bow

• One silver chain and small Wedgewood Jasper pendant, which had a picture of a deer on it

• One tarnished silver pendant in different colours depicting the Yorkshire Moors with a bird flying over

• One set of pink cloisonné earrings with shades of blue and pink

• €1,000 in cash in mixed denominations

• Necklaces, a set of earrings and bangles were also taken."

PC Abigail Barker, from Coalville CID, is the investigating officer.

She said: "Among the items taken was a gold linked bracelet that was the last thing the owner was given by her parents before they passed away.

"I would like to speak to anyone who has seen or been offered any of these items for sale or who has information about the burglary.

"Any details you can provide could help."
