Responsibilities & Duties Senior Head of Health, Safety & Environment

• Empowered to lead the Health, Safety & Environmental function across the business, responsible for implementing H&SE management systems, business continuity management (BCM) and strategic priorities
• Lead the Health and Safety agenda across Operations, Engineering and facilities management service providers ensuring legal compliance
• Coach and mentor the H&SE and facilities support teams
• Leads BBS (Behaviour Based Safety) program
• Manages all technical risks in the country and coordinates actions to reduce or mitigate them
• Embed a strategic HSE framework of world class safety standards
• Deliver an effective safety program management framework to achieve outstanding results
• An experienced euivalent UK HSE Lead, Group Head of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Senior appointment
• Leadership role providing direction, guidance, and support on the HSE & Wellbeing strategy
• Coaching and developing the UK Leadership team and other and all senior stakeholders on all HSE & Wellbeing topics
• Driving a strategic Safety First culture
• Working as part of the Senior Operations leadership team, alongside and through UK board
• Responsible for the HSE & Wellbeing leadership

Essential experience and qualifications Senior Head of Health, Safety & Environment

• NEBOSH Diploma minimum, ideally chartered IOSH or working towards chartership or IEMA would be advantageous
• FMCG experience ideally within logistics, supply chain or manufacturing environments
• Exposure to risk management, business continuity management, cultural change programmes and contractor management
• Able to engage with gravitas
• Empower all levels of workforce, floot to SLT
• Visible and approachable - ALWAYS!
• Delivering an effective framework for safety program management
• Key interface with the HSE systems, policies, and procedures and UK & Corporate Behavioural Change through thousands of people
• Execute and a Health and Safety Plan for the UK manufacturing Division, drive improvements in site operations, HSE performance and cultural change
• Lead and support the development of the company sustainability strategy
• Serve as mentor and trainer for SLT members, key stakeholders managers and other key supply chain leaders
• Serve as the subject-matter expert accountable and responsible safety person for several thousand employees
• Delivering an effective framework of incident investigation, auditing, and training oversight with primary focus on action closure across the entire function
• Delivering safety support, coaching and advice to the operational leadership and embedding agreed safety standards
• Leading the functional safety team/site safety managers
• Coaching and mentoring senior management on delivering safety
• Direct accountability for leading safety initiatives across the whole function
• Direct accountability for supporting the executive board
• Delivering a suite of agreed safety performance metrics
• Proven multi-site Health & Safety Management at a senior level
• Detailed knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
• Environmental compliance experience linked to sustainability and Net 0 initiatives
• Ideally, you'll have experience in contract management, including Catering, Cleaning and Security contracts on a large scale
